What started as a humble public food market has grown into a must-see tourist attraction in the heart of downtown Seattle. Pike Place Market, opened on August 17, 1907 is the oldest continuously running farmer's market in the US, and currently attracts around 10 million visitors a year. And boy, can you tell.
I wasn't really expected to have a religious experience in the middle day. Particularly after slogging through three feet of freshly-fallen snow, cheeks chapped raw from Montreal's brutal winter windchill, all the while dreaming about the poutine I would be having for lunch.
An impressive building smack in the middle of Downtown Montreal, Mary, Queen of the World is a scale replica of St. Peterβs Basilica β yes, the one in Rome. I personally had to visit just out of sheer curiosity.
